About Me

Hello! I’m so humbled that you’ve found my blog and decided it was worth a look. I’m a work-at-home, 30-something mama of three of the most precious boys on the planet (Sam, born in 2010, Isaiah, born in 2012, and our newest addition Henry, born in 2016); wife to my best friend, Zack, a pastor; and completely imperfect child of God, who gives me the grace I desperately need to navigate this crazy life. We are raising our family in a quaint little town in Michigan’s lower peninsula.

A few years ago, I taught myself to crochet so that I could save money on Christmas gifts. It wasn’t long before I was creating patterns in my head instead of following those written by others. Fast forward a few years, and after quite a bit of encouragement from my husband, I’m now a blogger!

I named my blog after my two older boys (the only ones I had at the time), who like most boys their age are full of energy and life and laughter and adventure. Here’s what they looked like around the time I started this blog…

And here’s what they look like now. It goes so fast!

Little Monkeys Crochet - My Little Monkeys

And on December 28, 2016, we added a third little monkey to our family: Henry James.

When I started the blog, I had no idea what an incredible adventure it would take me on. As my blog has grown, my goal for it has become more pointed. I love to design trendy patterns that will inspire newbies and seasoned crocheters alike, but it’s the younger generation that really inspires me, and I often draw that inspiration from my little sister and my nieces, who love fashion. I love neutral colors and put just as much thought into the look of the yarn I choose as I put into the pattern itself, because I believe it makes all the difference.

Enjoy your time here and please feel free to send me a message through the blog or on Facebook!
